3. Russo Becomes Jigsaw (Episode 13, "Memento Mori")

Frank's final confrontation with Russo takes place, rather appropriately, at the fairground where his family was killed, concluding with Frank saving Russo's two young hostages and absolutely laying waste to his pretty face.

Though Frank toys with murdering Russo, he ultimately decides to do one worse (at least from Russo's perspective): he smashes and grinds his face against a ride's broken mirror, grotesquely disfiguring his once-perfect visage.

Though the season ends with Russo comatose and doctors unsure if he'll ever wake up, he's clearly being set up to return as his villainous comic book alter ego, Jigsaw, who is of course one of The Punisher's best-known enemies.

The injury detail and intense sparring between the two actors makes this one of the series' most disturbing sequences of blood-letting, lingering on Russo's suffering, which even despite everything horrible he did, was still tough to watch.

One can only imagine how delightfully unhinged Russo's going to be next season as Jigsaw.
