The Punisher Season 2: 15 Easter Eggs & References Explained

10. The Amazing Spider-Man #129

Netflix & Marvel Comics

Earlier in episode three, Russo breaks out of hospital while taking Krista hostage, at which point he frog-marches her through a door with the number "129" next to it.

This might seem like a throwaway door number - as most of them certainly are - but it's a number with a very particular relevance for The Punisher. In fact, the character made his comic debut in 1974's The Amazing Spider-Man #129, which introduced him as an antagonist to the web-slinger.

Of course, The Punisher was ultimately popular enough to break out in his own right and earn the name Frank Castle, and the rest is history.
