The Simpsons: 10 Best Characters Only In One Episode
7. Godfrey Jones
It's an awfully difficult task trying to put together a list of the best Simpsons episodes ever, but most discussions of this nature tend to include a handful of old favourites that often include Homer Badman.
In this Season 6 episode, Homer and Marges visit to a candy convention has unexpected consequences when the exceedingly rare gummy Venus de Milo ends up stuck to the babysitters behind and Homers efforts to retrieve it result in him being accused of sexual harassment.
When Godfrey Jones, the anchor of amoral news show Rock Bottom, contacts Homer to offer him the opportunity to tell his side of the story, some spectacularly cutthroat editing results in one of the all-time great backfires. Eventually, Homer clears his name with a little help from voyeur Groundskeeper Willie or Rowdy Roddy Peeper, as he is soon christened but, true to form, Homer instantly condemns his saviour.
When his wife reminds Homer of his own experience with the underhand tabloid show, he utters the immortal words, Marge, my friend, I haven't learned a thing. Godfrey Jones made a lasting impact in a matter of seconds, and his cries of Mr. Simpson, noooo will echo through eternity.
