The Simpsons: 10 Best Characters Only In One Episode

6. Space Coyote/Spirit Guide

€˜El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer€™ might just be the best title in The Simpsons€™ storied history, and the Season 8 episode is also a perennial favourite that features one of the show€™'s best cameos. Homer€™'s mysterious voyage begins when a lazy, dog-dangling afternoon is livened up by a visit to the annual chilli cook-off, where an encounter with Chief Wiggum€™s lethal concoction, spiked with a handful of €˜Merciless Peppers of Quetzlzacatenango€™, leaves him a laughing stock and abandoned by a humiliated Marge.

Not to be outdone, Homer coats his tongue in candle wax and downs several insanity peppers, triggering a prolonged hallucination and a trip to the desert.

Homer eventually finds help in the form of Space Coyote, the spirit guide voiced by the inimitable Johnny Cash, who sends Homer on a quest to find his soulmate. When he awakens from his hallucination, Homer sets off on his task but finds a confused furniture salesman and the personal ads no help, and his pleas to the Space Coyote also fall on deaf ears when he'€™s told, "€œThis is just your memory. I can€™t give you any new information".€

Of course, this being The Simpsons (and not a Halloween special), it all ends well when Homer and Marge are reunited €“ true soul mates, if ever such things exist. In your face, Space Coyote.

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
