The Simpsons: 10 Best Characters Only In One Episode

4. Rex Banner

Another gem of a character from a hall-of-fame episode, Rex Banner made his one and only appearance (aside from a brief cameo in The Simpsons Movie) in Homer vs. the Eighteenth Amendment.

When Bart gets a little too into the spirits of St. Patrick€™s Day, it sparks a prohibitionist movement in Springfield enforced after the discovery that alcohol was actually banned two centuries earlier. Cue Moe€™'s Tavern becoming the best damn pet shop in town and Homer taking advantage of the situation by becoming the €˜Beer Baron€™ to supply the town with the cause of€ and solution to€ all of life€™s problems.

When Chief Wiggum rather unsurprisingly proves unable to uphold Prohibition, Eliot Ness-a-like Rex Banner is drafted in to interrogate the town€™s rummies and determine whether some blind tiger is jerking suds on the side. Homer eventually allows the disgraced Wiggum to turn him in, and the town€™s residents, having decided they€™d had enough of Banner, treat him to a little Springfield-style justice by sending him on his way by giant catapult.

Four minutes later, Fat Tony has made good on his promise to flood the town with booze, and everyone lived happily ever after. Apart from Rex Banner, obviously.

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
