The Simpsons: 10 Best Characters Only In One Episode
5. Shary Bobbins
Season 8 also featured one of the only other true contenders for best title when Shary Bobbins paid the Simpson family a visit in Simpsoncalifragilisticexpiala(Annoyed Grunt)cious.
When Marge discovers that the chunks of hair she's shedding on a regular basis are the result of stress, the family decide to hire a nanny to share the burden of the household chores. The process proves to be a bit more difficult than first assumed when Homer rejects every applicant on the suspicion that each candidate is a man in drag à la Mrs Doubtfire, but they eventually come up trumps when a magical nanny floats down from the clouds.
Shary Bobbins (definitely not Mary Poppins and an original creation, like Rickey Rouse, or Monald Muck) gets more than she bargained for with the Simpsons, as no sooner does order appear to have been restored than Homer is back throttling Bart and Marge is losing even more hair. Worse still, when Bobbins decides to stay on, she soon finds that her catchy musical numbers no longer hold the same sway, kicking off a downward spiral that starts with alcohol and ends in an airplane turbine.
So long, Superman!
Shary Bobbins learned the hard way that the Simpson family are happy just the way they are; she couldnt change them, and we wouldnt want them any other way.
