Perhaps more so than Bob's first appearance in season one, his return in the show's third season cements the Sideshow Bob we are now familiar with - the arch-criminal whose zany schemes always have it in for the Simpsons family. Here, he becomes the first of many husbands across the series of Marge's sister Selma - and of course has sinister intentions.

Like the later two-parter Who Shot Mr Burns, this is a classic Simpsons mystery, as Bart tries to work out how Bob will attempt to kill Selma. Bob himself is at his erudite yet evil best, with his character design now properly defined thanks to director Brad Bird (yep, the one who did The Incredibles).
