9. Quimby Quotes The Wrong Franchise

"May the force be with you" is a popular quote, but as many memes show it's the wrong one to use in conjunction with the late Leonard Nimoy. Yet that's what Mayor Quimby did in Marge Vs. The Monorail nonetheless! Leonard Nimoy, of course, was the guest star for the episode, and best known for his portrayal of Spock on Star Trek, a role he continued all the way to J.J. Abrams' Star Trek: Into Darkness. Thus the episode gets points for, in essence, furthering the conflict between the two franchises that are most often pitted against one another in the "best sci-fi property ever" category (friendly rivalry though it may be). Marge Vs. The Monorail, written by Conan O'Brien, is often thought of as one of the best Simpsons episodes of all time, and this little quip is often missed in the overall greatness of the rest of the episode, but it's still a marvellous moment in its own right.
