7. The Collector Takes Darth Maul's Light Saber Out Of The Box

Never take a collectible out of its original packaging! In Treehouse Of Horror X in season eleven, Comic Book Guy turns out to be an evil super-villain, The Collector, who kidnaps Lucy Lawless (who he continually refers to as Xena, her on-screen character) and takes her back to his lair, where he intends to store her forever. However, she uses her feminine wiles to trick him into freeing her, and during their struggle, The Collector retrieves a Darth Maul light saber replica and removes it from its packaging to use in the fight, which shocks Lawless. The Collector, realizing the mint condition toy is now worthless, is stunned, allowing Lawless to get the upper hand. The joke here is more on the wide range of Star Wars collectibles, many of which sell at auction for amounts no rational human being would pay for a toy.
