The Simpsons: 10 Best Treehouse Of Horror Episodes

4. Treehouse Of Horror VI

Bart Simpsons Dracula
20th Television

After five Halloween specials, Treehouse of Horror VI was the first to go straight into the episode without an introduction from Homer, Marge, or Bart.

The first segment, 'Attack of the 50ft Eyesores' is a Simpsons take on the effect of advertising on the world, and though it is a fun story, seeing the exact lengths Homer is prepared to go to to get a colossal donut, it is certainly the lesser of the three frightful tales.

We then get an insight into the dreams of our favourite Springfieldianites with the show's excellent take on Nightmare on Elm Street. Groundskeeper Willie made for a perfect Freddie Krueger, and was suitably creepy from start to finish, though it may have been Homer that was the MVP of the segment by his actions at the school meeting alone.

Even better than 'Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace' however, was 'Homer3'. This was a groundbreaking new animation style for the show, making this episode one of the most unique in the The Simpsons' entire history. Homer's exploration of the third dimension was smart, funny, and strangely, hauntingly beautiful.
