The Simpsons: 10 Best Treehouse Of Horror Episodes

7. Treehouse Of Horror X

The Simpsons Couch Premiering on Halloween night of 1999, Treehouse of Horror X was the final entry in the series before the specials began airing in November post-holiday. It was also the last before a major decline in appeal fell upon our beloved specials. Though it sits on the border between classics and future disappointments Treehouse of Horror X is still damn good. "I Know What You Diddily-iddily-Did" is a spoof of then popular slasher film, "I Know what You Did Last Summer," and in "Desperately Xeexing Xena" Bart and Lisa gain superpowers from a candy-inspecting machine and must save Lucy Lawless from the "Collector." Both are pure Simpsonsesque entertainment but if you're looking for something with a creepy feel then the first would be more up your alley. The final segment sees Homer once more play a part in the destruction of the Earth as Y2K takes over. Whereas Lisa, Marge, and Maggie gather on a spaceship of the best and brightest Bart and Homer find themselves on a ship to the sun with a variety of the "worst and dimmest" such as Tom Arnold and Rosie O'Donnell. This episode does lack a bit in the Halloween ambiance €“ as many later episodes did €“ but is one of the funniest and deserves its spot on the list.
