Imagine being trapped forever with the one thing you love to eat the most constituting a part of your body? At the same time, imagine knowing that the second you step outside of your front door, you'll be swarmed and devoured by all of Springfield's police force. That's the fate that befalls Homer in the Devil and Homer Simpson.

In what has to be one of the funniest Treehouse of Horror episodes, Homer sells his soul for a doughnut, which the Devil is only too happy to provide.

Satan, who is actually Ned Flanders, is almost outsmarted because the fine print states that Homer must finish the dish for the deal to be completed. As long as he leaves it marked on the plate with a note on it, he should be fine, right?

But this is Homer Simpson. He lasts barely twelve hours. In fact, it is almost game over until Marge demands a trial to decide Homer's fate, much to the Devil's chagrin. The court finds that Homer's soul legally belongs to Marge, causing Lucifer to put the doughnut curse upon him in revenge. He wanted a doughnut, he got a doughnut.

So, maybe this doesn't actually count as a fate worse than death...
