The Simpsons: 10 Fates Worse Than Death

9. The Fog That Turns People Inside Out

The Simpsons Treehouse Of Horror
20th Television

In the fifth Treehouse of Horror episode, the entire town faces a grizzly fate and naturally, we only see The Simpsons meet it!

Bart wakes up from a terrible nightmare featuring Lisa and him tumbling to their grizzly deaths in a huge blender. The whole family is there to calm him as he wakes, assuring him that he has nothing to worry about. Except of course for that fog that turns people inside out, which shows up on cue to ruin everyone's day.

742 Evergreen Terrace has very cheap insulation, allowing the fog to seep inside, and while most viewers are used to seeing the older Simpsons go through gruesome moments and horrific killings, watching Maggie get sucked inside out isn't the kind of image that'll fade away too quickly.

To balance out the horror of their situation, the family burst into a jazzy number that sums up their Halloween experience, complete with Grampa joining in and Santa's Little Helper, apparently immune to the fog, attacking Bart for his juicy intestines.

He is dragged off in a trail of blood while the rest complete their happy go lucky song.
