The Simpsons: 10 Greatest Rock Star Moments

9.  The White Stripes (S18 E02 “Jazzy And The Pussycats”)

In one of the most engaging music themed episodes from the show, a child psychologist prescribes drumming lessons to Bart as an outlet to help curb his bad behaviour.

After receiving a drum kit, Bart, in a parody of The White Stripes’ video for “The Hardest Button to Button”, travels throughout Springfield, drumming to the song, leaving a copy of his kit behind him on every beat, before crashing into The White Stripes, who are doing the same thing.

While Jack White tells Bart to “watch where [he’s] drumming”, Meg shouts, “let’s kick his a**”, before they chase after him and fall onto a garbage barge.

As Bart's drumming improves, he soon steals the spotlight from Lisa as a top jazz performer at the Jazzy Goodtimes club, leading Lisa to console herself by adopting hordes of unwanted animals. After Lisa's rescued tiger bites Bart's arm, Bart holds a benefit concert to help pay for his own operation, before ultimately deciding to use the proceeds to build an animal sanctuary for Lisa instead.
