The Simpsons: 10 Most Hated Characters

4. Armin Tamzarian

If it wasn’t for just one fateful season nine episode, the name Armin Tamzarian would mean absolutely nothing to anyone. As it is however, there is no taking back ‘The Principal and the Pauper’, and to many this was the beginning of the end of the Simpsons’ golden era.

At the center of the incredibly poorly received episode was Armin Tamzarian, previously known as Principal Seymour Skinner. The story told of how the real Skinner had been taken as a prisoner of war, and so his young protégé took his place in every aspect of his life, until the entire town decided to forget it ever happened.

Up until this moment, Skinner was a fantastic character in the Simpsons. Though a little inconsistent to begin with, going from a badass ex-green beret to the kind of mommy’s boy he is today, he was always a great addition to any episode. Now however, fans still haven’t gotten over the whole Armin Tamzarian incident.

It was a poor episode that ruined a character, and made it plain for all to see that ideas were beginning to run low. You would have thought that the show would want to move as far away from the unpleasantness as possible and pretend like it never happened like Judge Sneider decreed, but amazingly the episode was referenced six years later in 'I, (Annoyed Grunt)-Bot, once again reminding fans that this actually happened.
