After Bart sells his soul to Milhouse, several strange events causes him to realise what he has lost and he desperately tries to regain it by any means necessary.

This episode can be downright heart-breaking, with Bart’s torment causing him to have nightmares about reaching heaven and not having any soul to accompany him, unlike his classmates. He becomes even more disheartened when he discovers Milhouse has sold his soul to Comic Book Guy.

The sheer desperation causes Bart to sleep outside Android’s Dungeon until the owner arrives and the peak of his distress comes when he prays to God for the return of his soul. Nancy Cartwright is incredible in this scene, capturing the pure anguish and hopelessness in Bart as he breaks down in tears.

The episode also highlights the strong sibling bond between Bart and Lisa when it is revealed his sister bought his soul back to return it to him, resulting in a touching scene between the pair. Those two definitely share plenty of sweet moments.
