The Simpsons: 10 Most Overlooked Episodes Ever

2. In Marge We Trust

Season 8 - Episode 22 Fishbulb. There's a word you probably won't use outside the context of The Simpsons. "In Marge We Trust" was the episode that introduced us to Mr. Sparkle, the Japanese corporate logo character who looked disturbingly like Homer. In the end, it turned out that he was simply the amalgamation of two other logos, but the discovery of Mr. Sparkle led Homer on a quest to discover why someone had "stolen" his likeness. Why is this episode overlooked? It was a little ahead of its time. These sorts of zany, random storylines didn't really become more common until later seasons - and a lot of the time, they didn't really work all that well. "In Marge We Trust" did - and keep in mind that the Mr. Sparkle storyline was just a subplot. The main focus of the episode was Marge taking over for Reverend Lovejoy at the Church, answering the phone when people call for support and becoming the "Listen Lady" (to which Moe famously retorts "Yeah, well listen, lady, I got so many problems I, I don't even know where to begin here.").
