The Simpsons: 15 Huge Guest Stars & Cameos You Forgot
13. Magic Johnson
Some of the biggest names in the sporting world have guest starred on The Simpsons. 'Homer at the Bat' featured a plethora of baseball players, 'Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass' included LeBron James, Yao Ming, Tom Brady and more, and 'Tennis the Menace' featured a handful of the greatest tennis players in the world.
Before all of these however, came the first person to make the jump from the sporting world to Springfield, Magic Johnson. When Homer fluked his way into stopping a meltdown at the power plant in season three, he was treated as a hero. He earned the title of Employee of the Month, and was given all of the bonuses that go with it, including a phone call from the legendary LA Laker.
Johnson called to congratulate Homer on saving the town, but also inadvertently told him that he would eventually be found out as a fraud. 'Homer Defined' first aired in October 1991, just weeks before the NBA player shocked the world by announcing his retirement from the game after a positive HIV test.
