The Simpsons: 15 Modern Episodes You Need To Watch

2. 24 Minutes (Season 18, Episode 21)

Simpsons 8
Fox

"The following takes place between 2:34 PM and 3:04 PM. Or maybe it's AM. Whichever one is the morning one; it's not that one" - Jack Bauer

Probably the most accomplished parody of 24 that any show has ever pulled off. Just as they did in their X-Files episode 'The Springfield Files', The Simpsons struck gold in crossing over with a fellow Fox show. The show's 400th episode plays out in real-time and features guest stars Keifer Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub to boot.

Springfield Elementary's CTU (Counter Truancy Unit) have their work cut out when Lisa discovers that the school bullies are planning to sabotage a bake sale with a stink bomb made from an out-of-date yoghurt. Jack Bauer stand-in Bart Simpson is recruited to help stop the attack and he even meets the real Jack Bauer along the way to make one of the show's best ever prank call gags. The jokes in this one come thick and fast - Martin's 'suicide' being a particular highlight - in one of the strongest spoofs the show has ever done, which is really saying something.
