The Simpsons: 8 Episodes We Never Got To See
7. Homer Tells Bart He Loves Him Best
Not too much is known about this Ken Keely-penned episode, but the title speaks for itself.
"Homer Tells Bart He Loves Him Best" sounds, at its core, like a classic Simpsons episode, full of witty satire that balances its outlandish humour with a great deal of heart and family drama.
Basically, the episode would have found Bart succeeding at something he'd often failed at - an exam is a safe bet - only to then have Homer tell his son he loves him more than his other kids. The rest of the episode would have been dedicated to Homer seeking forgiveness from Lisa and Maggie.
With a write-up like that, one can't help but think the episode would have been reminiscent of "And Maggie Makes Three," another personal odyssey into Homer's relationship with his kids that is the perfect balance of hilarious and heartbreaking.
Why "Homer Tells Bart" was never produced hasn't been revealed, and given its potential, that really is a shame.
