The Simpsons: All Of Bart's Love Interests, Ranked Worst To Best

10. Darcy

Bart's girl
20th Century Fox

Oscar winning actress Natalie Portman is one of the biggest stars The Simpsons has ever had, and in Darcy they certainly tried to wring the most out of her guest spot. She joins at the beginning of the second act and is in pretty much every scene from then on out, but unfortunately a lot of her character just doesn’t work.

Darcy is a teenage girl who gets pregnant shortly before meeting Bart, something Bart finds out shortly after they start dating. However, with his ten year old’s understanding of pregnancy, he assumes he’s actually the father.

Darcy assumes Bart to be older than he is, seeing as the story begins with him getting a driver’s license (again), and the story collapses in on itself. The two elope to Utah to marry, too. There’s just too much going on for any character to really breathe.

In Portman’s defence, she never feels like she’s phoning it in, although this role hardly tests her the way the likes of Black Swan and Closer do. With a bit more restraint, she could have been a great character, but the unbridled weirdness of the plot doesn’t make for a risk that comes off here.
