The Simpsons: Every Sideshow Bob Episode Ranked Worst To Best

6. The Bob Next Door (Season 21, Episode 22)

The Simpsons Cape Feare
Fox

The Simpsons meets Face/Off in this late-run gem, as Bob swaps faces with a fellow prisoner, moves in next to his least favourite family, and charms everyone so he can get close enough to Bart to finally kill him.

Deliciously dark and surprisingly unsettling, The Bob Next Door leans into Sideshow Bob's manipulative side, following him as he gains everyone's trust and races cross-country to fulfil his one true wish of killing Bart.

Granted, the final act suffers from some predictably tacked-on jokes for the sitcom's later episodes, but come on: Bob playing ideal neighbour is too amusing and odd to resist, and has enough jokes and twists to remind audiences of the good old days.

And credit where it's due: The Simpsons has a love-hate relationship with spoofing movies, but this is one of the show's best efforts.
