The Simpsons: Every Treehouse Of Horror Ranked Worst To Best

26. XXII. The Diving Bell And The Butterball; Dial D For Diddly; In The Na'Vi

The Simpsons The Shinning
Fox

Again, the non-horror parody episodes of Treehouses seem badly misplaced and like an excuse for the writers simply to shoe-horn in movie parodies for the sake of it. This is definitely the case with the opening segment here, which was a parody of The Diving Bell And The Butterfly, which wasn't exactly the most welcome thing. It's a little... awkward to say the least and why they thought an episode in which Homer is paralysed and communicates solely through flatulence was a good idea is anyone's guess.

Next up is Ned's take on Dexter - complete with an excellent opening sequence - which is good precisely up to the point when it gets religious.

And finally, another non-horror movie parody in the shape of the Avatar-lite, In The Na'Vi, which isn't funny in the slightly (possibly because of the presence of the aliens, who you will come to learn I am not a fan of particularly).

All-in-all, it's not the best episode.
