The Simpsons: Harry Shearer's 10 Worst Characters

2. Dr Marvin Monroe

Marvin Monroe was a staple of the early episodes, but he was far from a popular character. Short tempered, impatient, and arrogant, Monroe was a psychiatrist who was often brought in to offer his opinion on psychological issues, which with a family like the Simpsons, would be something of a goldmine. However his smug attitude and overbearing presence made him extremely unlikeable. Constantly in your face with such ferocious energy, he was unwilling to hear anyone's opinion but his own and he made every observation and suggestion sound like a command. Furthermore the over the top aggression Shearer brought to the voice just always made Monroe sound angry. Even when gleefully talking about his childlike love of Itchy and Scratchy he still sounded unnecessarily hostile. Add in the fact that he sounds like a chain smoker gargling cement while being strangled with a rope made of sandpaper and you have the worst voice to ever come out of Shearers mouth.

As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG. I may have a problem! But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
