The Simpsons Season 29: 10 Excellent Things You Need To Know
2. One Simpsons Character Speaks For The First Time
It's hard to fathom, but one of the Simpsons' numerous characters has never spoken since the show's debut. What's more surprising is that the character sleeps under the same roof as Homer and Marge. Feline family member Snowball gains a voice in this year's Treehouse of Horror episode.
Celebrated fantasy author Neil Gaiman will guest star as Snowball the cat in the Coraline-based opening. Fans were able to guess his role when Gaiman posted a Snowball snapshot on his Twitter, though he fails to grant his followers any other clues. Gaiman appeared as himself in a previous episode, The Book Job, but this is the first time the show's done a parody of one of his acclaimed works.
The beloved Treehouse of Horror installments will persist in season twenty-nine. Exorcist director William Friedkin stops by as a doctor who attempts to prevent Homer from cannibalizing himself, and a second segment chronicles the demonic possession of Maggie in a spoof of Friedkin's film. While this isn't the only episode with a head-turning Maggie, early production stills exhibit a Maggie fans haven't seen before in the guise of a red-eyed baby levitating from her crib. The trademark scary images and clever storytelling of former Treehouse episodes look to be in place this year.
Recent announcements concerning the Simpsons' annual Halloween fest prove season twenty-nine is set to be a riveting addition to the series.
