The Sopranos: 10 Best Minor Characters

6. Irina Peltsin

The Sopranos Tony Blundetto
HBO

Casting our minds back to season 1, Irina Peltsin was the woman that we first saw Tony having an affair with. She was a young Russian beauty who craved Tony's attention and never stopped being devoted to him in many ways.

Her innocence and naive nature was something that was evident during her run in the show, though she ended up being responsible for letting Carmela know that Tony had affairs with her and Svetlana, causing Carmela to leave Tony.

Tony himself clearly cared for her to some degree because he breaks up with her and gives her money in order to start a new life. Though she does begin a new relationship with Ronald Zellman, Tony quickly becomes jealous and beats him with his belt in front of her, in spite of the fact that he initially gave them his blessing.

We don't see more of Irina after her call to Carmela and her fate is left in the air, which was unfortunate because she was such a brilliant minor character in the show. Though for doing what she did, it is fairly likely that she would have been killed by Tony in retaliation had she continued on the show.
