Everyone loves a ghost sidekick. Whoopie Goldberg had one, Haley Joel Osment had one and the Ghostbusters had one, when he wasn't being an outright villain. Even Harry Potter ended up having ghostly pals.

Umbrella Academy's answer to those characters is Ben, the deceased former Number 6 of the Academy's team, who was killed violently at a young age while on a mission. He effectively plays Klaus' conscience (apart from when he gets his moment to shine in the big finale), offering asides and reactions to him and he necessarily misses all manner of character development.

But he's still interesting - mostly because of the questions he leaves behind (what exactly are his powers? How did he die? Why is he fully grown as a ghost but was a child when he died?) and it'll be great to see more of him.
