The Umbrella Academy Season 2: 10 Things That Must Happen

Their relationship was probably the closest of all of the Academy, with the possible exception of Ben and Klaus. However, their development was slightly truncated by way the plot accelerated towards the end of the season, meaning next time around needs to plug the gaps in their plot thread.

Luther on the phone talking to Allison’s daughter was one of the most touching moments of The Umbrella Academy’s first season, and an excellent block to build upon next year. However, it seemed like their relationship was made up of moments, with nothing ever explored in enough depth.

For example, when Allison learned Luther had slept with someone else, she seemed devastated, but the storyline moved away too quickly. In Season 2, hopefully we’ll see some of the lasting, more complex effects of this turn of events.

Another important rift between the pair was their treatment of Vanya, something only likely to get more complicated now that they’re with Vanya again. The Ellen Page character did almost kill Allison, but she was willing to forgive. Luther, on the other hand, wanted to lock her away forever. While it’ll be good to see them get closer, it’ll be interesting to see them clash too.
