The Umbrella Academy TV Show: 7 Things Netflix Must Get Right

5. The Humor

The best way to reward a group of children for saving a city? Ice cream!

Since their first adventure it's obvious that the children are perfectly capable of handling their opponents, while simultaneously dropping cool one-liners whenever possible. The one using them the most is Number Five, and the fact that twenty years later he still looks like a child makes it even more cooler.

Another source of humor are the villains, who allude to historical figures or objects. Once again they are served with an unexpected, almost ridiculous twist, which makes them all the more appealing, and, well, funnier.

In the second collected issue, Dallas, there's this psychotic duo of Hazel and Cha Cha, who don't look threatening because they have these cute colorful animal masks. Once again, as is the case with Number Five, the combination of cuteness and violence serves as a source of humor.
