9. The CDC

The Centre for Disease Control (CDC) episodes seem like an eternity ago, and with the show being in its infancy, it was hard to grasp how important Dr. Jenner's statements actually were. We're no closer to discovering what happened with the rest of the world/country, but the CDC gives us a clue. Dr. Jenner makes a point that their last contact with the French was a message to say that they were close to a cure. That could be an enormously significant line for the future. We still don't know whether this is a localised or worldwide event, and if the French did create a cure and survived, that changes everything about the show. The CDC is an official, authoritative source, the only time we get real clarification of what's actually going on.
