The Walking Dead: 10 Big Differences Between The Comics & TV Show

4. Comics Carol Is A Flirt

Carol starts off very similarly on both page and screen. Different hair style, admittedly, with the comic book version going for the longer bob of a prim housewife than the pixie cut Melissa McBride sports in the TV show. Otherwise, they're almost totally identical: both befriend Lori, both have a kid called Sophia, and both had an abusive husband they're glad to see the back off. From there, the paths diverge wildly. The Carol Peletier in the TV show starts off as demure and a bit annoying in her passivity. Then her daughter dies, having been lost in the woods towards the start of the second season. In the comics she's still alive, and has been adopted by Glenn and Maggie. That's because Carol ended up dying before her in the comics, the end of a series of self-destructive choices which culminated in letting a herd of zombies chow down on her. That's after a run of enjoying her single life that involves suggesting a polyamorous arrangement with Rick and Lori and dating Tyreese. It's when her new beau cheats on her that she finally goes off the deep end.
