3. Sam & Ana

You may not even remember Sam and Ana; they're the most obscure characters on the list, yet suffered far more than they deserved. Rick and Carol bump into them on a supply run. They're happy, optimistic, and very peaceful. They won't (or can't) kill walkers, so they live out their days keeping each other safe. Yeah, that wasn't going to last long. Rick and Carol later find a severed leg, and that leads them to discovering the rest of Ana, sprawled out on a driveway being feasted upon, while there's no sign of Sam. Where did he end up? Safety? Renewed hope? Peace? Ha, Terminus. He was one of the captives being leaned over the silver trough in the cannibals' slaughterhouse where he is batted over the head and has his throat slit. Both deaths were extremely cruel, for two people who never caused any harm.
