10. The Return Of The Governor... With A Tank
So up until the last few episodes, the series and the comics played out pretty closely when it came to The Governor. One big change however was the final episode. Whilst in the series there was a big assault, The Governor ran away with his tail between his legs rather than fully face up to Rick and his group. In the comics, the sh*t truly hits the fan with The Governor raiding the local military base and coming out with a tank. Whilst it proves to be more of an intimidation tactic at the start, The Governor eventually decides that if he can't have the prison, no one can, and mows down one of the outer fences. All hell breaks loose and whilst things don't wind up too well for The Governor, it kick-starts a much bigger storyline for The Walking Dead as a comic. This is a great moment for the comics. It's tense and carries real weight. It's The Governor completely unhinged. Seeing this in the series is still a real possibility but given the differences between The Governor in the series and the comics, I doubt his comeback will be quite as intense.
