The Walking Dead: 10 Deaths You Didn't Actually See Happen
2. Duane
Duane struck us immediately (and Rick, with a shovel) in the series premiere as a lovable young boy, with a great bond with his father Morgan. The two had to deal with a lot together, living alone in the zombie apocalypse, and having to deal with the death of Duane's mother, and Morgan's wife respectively. Still though, Duane was finding a balance between adaption to the new world and the maintenance of his childhood innocence, eager to learn how to shoot, and still reading his comic books as a method of escape. Sadly, however, we found out in Season 3 when Rick returned to his hometown that Duane sadly passed away at the hands of his own reanimated mother, whom Morgan had failed to put down at the close of the premiere. Now, Morgan was delusional, and ultimately lost his sanity in a bid to clear the world of everything, living and dead. We found out just recently how Morgan bounced back from this new low, learning the peaceful ways of Eastman, and then going on a quest to find Rick after finding a map with his name on it. Still though, with Morgan finally becoming one of the big-time regulars on the show, a flashback to the moment his son died, arguably the most important off-screen death in the series, would be incredibly interesting. How long after the first episode did it happen? How long did it take for Morgan to turn into the crazed lunatic he eventually did? We may never find out, but this remains as one of the most pivotal deaths the series has (never) seen.
