The Walking Dead: 10 Huge Questions For Season 10's Finale

6. Who Is The Ninja?

One of the most unexpected shots in the trailer is Aaron and Alden escaping Whisperers, only to run into a mysterious masked person with two scythe-like weapons. Who is this person?

Easiest answer is it’s a new character, possibly one related to Maggie and Georgie’s people. However, the editing of the opening minutes suggests that they are separate groups. It’s hard to tell if it’s even a man or a woman, so the list of people it could be is actually quite long. The mask could be used to hide a face for a dramatic reveal, so it could well be someone we know.

Connie is around somewhere, but a deaf person wearing a mask that restricts vision makes little sense, so likely not her. It could be an adaptation of Mercer from the comics, though the logistics of the commonwealth sending someone to the exact location of the action stretches the limits of plausibility.

There’s a host of characters currently missing in action, like Heath or Jadis, that could return, or perhaps a character from Fear the Walking Dead returning to our screens, like Dwight, Sherry or even Morgan himself (the ninja does look very similar to Morgan when he arrived at Alexandria)

One crazy theory floating around is that it is Morgan’s son, Duane. While this theory has absolutely nothing to back it up other than appearance similarities, stranger things have happened. In the comics at the commonwealth it’s revealed Michonne’s daughter Elodie is still alive, but with Michonne off the show perhaps this could be their way of remixing it.

He’s one of the only characters directly related to another that we’ve both seen on screen and never seen a body for. It’s a big stretch and very unlikely, but the feeling of seeing an episode one character return sure would be a massive shock.
