7. Who Else Is Going To Die?
A cornerstone of finale predictions is who is going to die, it’s a walking dead tradition that characters drop like flies as seasons come to a close. This year is as hard to predict as any, especially as the story strays further from the comic book source material.
The previously mentioned tower death belonged to Gabriel in the comic, but the episode’s title, A Certain Doom is a nod to the issue and volume of the same name, in which Rick’s longtime lover Andrea is bitten and dies of infection. Obviously neither Rick nor Andrea exist on the show, and Rick’s replacement love interest Michonne is off the show also. It’s unsure if the show will even follow through with this death, especially as it is quite similar to Carl’s exit from season eight.
Obvious there is definitely going to be casualties, it’s just a question of who. Gabriel has had a lot of focus this season, and the timing matches up with his comic death. Meanwhile Luke is living on borrowed time from his comics version, Ezekiel and Jerry’s farewell was oddly emotional and Ezekiel is literally dying of cancer. However it happens, expect the worst in usual walking dead fashion.
