6. Season 5 Finale

The entire Season 5 finale could be considering as one constant shock, not because died, but more for the fact that barely anybody bit the dust. Sasha and Father Gabriel squared off with one another: neither died. Nicholas grappled with Glenn: neither died. Aaron and Daryl were penned into a car surrounded by walkers: neither died. That's not a criticism though, it was gripping without shedding blood. Then the final sequence rumbled along. Pete staggered into the mix, and slit poor ol' Reg's throat with Michonne's katana, eventually resulting in Rick executing the abusive, drunken porch-dweller. It was a fantastic Walking Dead finale, one of the show's finest, and was shocking for a whole variety of reasons.
