5. Enid And The Tortoise

Without a doubt the strangest entry to the list is Enid's tortoise dinner. This is a moment that didn't serve any major plot purpose, nor will it go down as a classic moment in the history of television, it was no more than a simple illustration of the new world; a place where teenage girls see tortoises and instantly think 'food'. Enid happily tucks into the creature, digging her hand into the shell to scoop up raw flesh. She looks as though she could be in a cinema with her friends delving into a bucket of sweet hot popcorn, but instead she's all alone in the wild gorging on raw tortoise. It was such a bizarre moment, and shocking to see her and the world itself in such a mess.
