9. Slow Pacing
This show can drag out a story for longer than any show on TV. Seriously. The peak of this problem obviously struck during season two, but it is an on-going issue in general. The sophomore season stayed on Hershel's farm, for example, which was an exceptionally boring locale, for an interminable thirteen episodes. From the moment they got there you were just waiting for something awful to happen. I didn't think any viewers expected that it was would take the whole season before the zombie horde arrived and forced them out (in hindsight this was probably because of the publicised budget cuts AMC implemented). That season also saw the never-ending story of the disappearance of Carol's daughter Sophia. The search for a character that we didn't really know wasn't even interesting enough to fill a whole episode, and yet The Walking Dead dragged it out for a whole season. What in the name of the undead were they thinking?
