The Walking Dead: 10 Things Season 6 Has Got Horribly Wrong (So Far)

2. Pacing

One of the biggest flaws in The Walking Dead has been the bizarre pacing of the show. It's an incredibly tough tightrope to balance on considering all of the moving parts in the show, and the writers are always trying to demonstrate how quickly a good situation can turn bad in a heartbeat. But still, at this stage, there should be more order to prevent the show from looking like a jumping record. Personally I thought the premiere was excellent, with a good, solid pace throughout. It methodically outlined the group's ambitious plan and came to a shocking conclusion. After that we had another two episodes of rapid fire action, before a 90 minute Morgan-centric episode. I enjoyed it, but 90 minutes for a character's backstory: WHY? We'd already learned the lessons about Morgan from other characters who took a moral stance when it came to killing. From this point onwards, the season plodded along excruciatingly slowly at times, and while I'm certainly not demanding 24-7 action, there was so much time spent on largely needless dialogue between unnecessary characters without the story being developed.
