The Walking Dead: 10 Things That STILL Don’t Make Sense

4. How Strong Are The Walkers, Really?

The Walking Dead
AMC

The strength and abilities of the walkers remain one of the biggest inconsistencies of the entire show, inexplicably changing depending on what the writers need to happen.

Throughout the show, there have been plenty of moments where the walkers have appeared as little more than weak canon fodder, such as when long-surviving characters such as Rick, Daryl, Michonne and the like have been forced to fend off large groups.

But sometimes they're superhuman. Noah is dragged to his death in season five by the ankles, and is seemingly powerless to save himself. Dale is killed by a lone walker that easily overpowers him, and there are moments when key characters can kill twenty at a time but can't seem to handle one.

Their strength isn't the only thing, though. Re-watching the first two seasons, some walkers have the ability to run and climb walls, traits which eventually fade without explanation. It's a simple case of the writing to suit what needs to happen, but it's hard to overlook once you notice it.
