The Walking Dead: 10 Things We Have To See In The Final Season

1. A Happy Ending

The Walking Dead
Image Comics

So how will The Walking Dead actually end? In the comics, the final frame sees an older Carl reading a story to his and Sophia's daughter, seemingly at peace in a world that has finally come to grips with itself. But Carl's gone (and Sophia is a mere distant memory), and the comics' influence has slipped pretty far by this point.

Ultimately, the ending has to be happy. There has to be some kind of peace and prosperity, where the communities are standing strong and everyone's happy, rather than settling with the show's usual theme of decay and continuous pain.

We won't be getting the classic Carl image to round things up, but considering everything that the survivors have been through, a hopeful conclusion would probably be the best for everyone - both on the show, and for those watching at home.

I think everyone's earned that.
