The Walking Dead: 10 Things We Have To See In The Final Season

7. A Good Reason For Daryl And Carol To Leave

With the announcement that the show was coming to an end, there came a silver lining for many long-time fans: The show would live on with a spin-off featuring fan favourites Daryl and Carol. Norman Reedus has gone on record to describe the series as "a road show," set away from the main communities as the BFFs take to the road and trek through America.

But this has raised a serious question. Both Daryl and Carol have been the main focus of much of the last season - from Carol's clash with Alpha, their own fractured relationship, and Daryl's re-integration to the group - and their other relationships are stronger than ever.

Daryl has become a sort of surrogate father to former Whisperer Lydia as well as Judith and R.J Grimes, and has grown close to Connie and Kelly, whilst Carol promises to only grow closer to the group now that her war with Alpha is over.

What season eleven needs to do is offer fans a good and reasonable justification for the pair running off together without their closest friends, none of whom have been confirmed for the spin-off (yet?). Right now, the thought of them heading out to do their own thing seems maddeningly out of character.
