The Walking Dead: 10 Things We Have To See In The Final Season
8. Focus On Supporting Characters
Since Rick - and then Maggie and Michonne - left the show, The Walking Dead has had a slight issue with finding a main protagonist to anchor the show. For the most part, Rick's void has been filled by Daryl Dixon, who has been front and centre for most of the communities' conflicts, but many of the supporting players have felt kind of let down by the more recent storylines.
For example, Gabriel spent much of season ten periodically turning up and threatening to go out in a blaze of glory, only for his arc to with an anticlimactic sigh. Also, Aaron, Eugene, Judith, Ezekiel and Rosita have all felt out of the loop with the main narrative, and given very little to do outside of the more action-heavy side-plots.
With the final season coming to a head and many of the characters at odds with themselves and each other, it would be nice to see many of the old-timers get more time in the spotlight. Aaron and Gabriel have both come a long way from where we found them in season five, Eugene seems poised to be a major community leader, and Ezekiel is in the midst of a major illness.
To see these characters get more time in front of the camera would be a welcome addition to the show, especially given the fact not all of them are going to survive what's to come...
