The Walking Dead: 10 Times Rick Was Really The Villain
6. Try (Season 5) – His Infamous Alexandria Meltdown
The abusive Pete ‘Porch Dick’ Anderson certainly had the trouncing Rick gave him coming. However, beating his face to a bloody pulp in front of a crowd of Alexandrians including young kids and proceeding to launch into an insane, angry tirade wasn’t exactly the best way for Rick to ingratiate himself with his new neighbours.
It’s true that the Pete situation needed to be addressed and that Rick’s criticisms about the Alexandrians being woefully ill-prepared for the zombie apocalypse were something that needed to be said but going about it the way he did was wrong.
Ranting and raving still bloodied from the fight and haphazardly waving his six-shooter at the gathering crowd while telling them their way of doing things was done made Rick seem more like a loose cannon than a worthy leader. And let’s not forget that Rick’s diatribe was directed at people that however naïve had welcomed him and his people into their community with open arms.
In that meltdown moment, Rick didn’t just come across just as a villain but an unhinged despot too.
