3. The Revelatory Nursery Rhyme

The fifth season was full of little nods to classic fairy tales: there was the constant hanging reference to The Big Bad Wolf of course, and if that wasn't enough, there was also a very on the nose reference to Little Red Riding Hood in Conquer... Also, could that be any more of a reference to Star Trek's red shirts? But there's more to the nursery rhymes than might meet the eye: could they be a hint at who the Wolves really are? In the comics, Derek, the leader of The Scavengers taunts Rick with the creepy nursery rhyme refrain "little pig, little pig... let me in!" Of course, it's impossible to resist the allusion of The Wolves to the Three Little Pigs, and it seems like the show is setting up the new villains as a reference to the all too brief group from the comics.
