The Walking Dead: 4 Things "Spend" Got Right (And 6 It Didn't)

3. Finally, More Zombies

For a show about zombies, there sure haven't been a lot of zombies in The Walking Dead as of late. Partly that's down to the brilliance of the Alexandria Safe Zone's wall which protects the entire town from attacks, undead or otherwise €“ and the sub-plot about Abraham keeping that first line of defence in tact was a nice change of pace €“ but it goes deeper than that. As time's gone by the survivors have become so adept at dealing with zombies that, a couple of weeks ago, they were totally unconcerned with a huge gathering of the buggers that was tailing them. They just aimed to walk fast enough that they'd never catch up. When you've established that a major threat can be defeated with a brisk pace, they're no longer much of a threat. So the aborted supply run by Glenn, Noah, Eugene, Tara Aidan and Nicholas was a much needed comeback for the undead. In fact this is the first time that a large group of walkers has posed any sort of threat since season one, when Glenn and Rick did the same whilst smothered in zombie guts. Even when that massive horde got let out of the barn in season two they barely batted an eyelid.
