The Walking Dead 5.8 Review - 5 Talking Points From "Coda"

5. Don't Mess With Rick Grimes

In the opening scene we see the after effects of Lamson's attack on Sasha and his attempt to flee captivity, navigating his way through walkers while still handcuffed behind his back. Rick gives chase and hops in one of the cop cars, demanding over the car's loudspeaker that Lamson stop running. When he doesn't comply, Rick rams him with the vehicle, sending him flying through the air and landing in a heap. "All you had to do was stop", Rick tells him, but Lamson tries to justify why he ran. Beforehand, he would have been able to reason with Rick, a logical, sensible man who valued human life and maintaining the morals that made him who he was before the world ended. But that man has since seen too many friends and loved ones die and he isn't taking that chance again. Rick executed Lamson in the street and left his body for the walkers to feast on, once again proving that Grimes gives zero f*cks when it comes to people messing with his family.
