The Walking Dead: 5 Reasons The Finale Was Awesome, 5 Reasons It Sucked

5 Reasons It Sucked

5. Anti-Climactic Ending

The Walking Dead After building up a showdown between Rick's camp and The Governor's, the finale of Season 3 couldn't not feel like something of an anti-climax. Though we saw Rick's attempts to repel The Governor and the massacre that followed, it really felt like The Governor's arc could have been neatly wrapped up here, allowing the writers to jump right into the next chapter. Instead, with The Governor, Martinez, and Shumpert still out there, there's a strong possibility the show will get bogged down in them trying to regroup and coming back, when the show needs to keep moving forward to maintain momentun (as we learned the hard way with Season 2's overlong stay at the farm). Though not every finale needs to be a whizz-bang action extravaganza, it should be if that's what you tease at the outset; it's what people wanted to see, and instead, the status quo ended up being restored, which is a problem all by itself...
