The Walking Dead: 5 Reasons The Finale Was Awesome, 5 Reasons It Sucked

1. The Governor's Massacre

Much of this episode belonged to David Morrissey and his commanding performance as The Governor, no moment more so than a pivotal scene in which he caught up to the retreating members of his strike team in the wake of the prison battle. While most of them expressed a desire to simply leave the prison tribe alone, The Governor snapped, violently gunning down most of the survivors except for Martinez and Shumpert. Though, as I'll get to later, it did seem played out for shock value, this scene gives us a starling glimpse at The Governor's darkly violent temper, and how his composed exterior can so easily give way to violence. AMC promised that we'd get 27 deaths in this episode, and they certainly made a good number of them count during this visceral exchange. And now let's look at what didn't quite work about the finale...
